Prayer Update

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

Thank you for holding us up before the Lord with these requests.  Our heart’s desire is to do His will.  We feel very strongly that His will is for us to work with MAF Learning Technologies.  For that to happen, we have to raise 100% of our support ($5700/month).

We feel like we are on a roller coaster ride.  Our support was low and we were in danger of being dropped.  Then Wheaton Bible came through and we were up again.  Now, things are going slowly again.  Our review has been pushed to the end of March as some of the people involved are traveling right now.  We have met the 35% cut-off, but we also need to show potential for reaching 100%.

If you look at our situation from a human perspective, it is hopeless.  Thankfully, we are not stuck seeing things from a human perspective.  If this is the work that God has called us to do, He has a plan for providing the financial support that is needed.

  1. Please pray that we will trust more fully in God’s provision for this need and in the power of prayer.
  2. Pray for the STEER seminar on Monday night and Tuesday morning.  Pray for Ken (farmer raising a cow for us) as he speaks to other farmers on Friday to invite them to the seminar.  Pray for us today as we personally invite several neighboring farmers to the seminar.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in the hearts of other farmers who have heard about the seminar, but not gotten a personal invitation.
  3. Pray for more contact with more people.  As we now live 100 miles from Wheaton and 10 miles from the closest form of civilization, we are finding it difficult to have much personal contact with people.
  4. Pray for the opportunity to get to know more people as we join the Princeton Area Home Educators group.  They have co-op classes on Fridays.  Pray for me (Susan) as I teach a science class there.
  5. Please continue to pray for people to respond to the newsletter.  As people sift through their pile of paperwork this first week of the month, let God speak to them about joining our support team.
  6. With the review moved to the end of the month, we have a little extra time to meet that goal of 50% by the time of the review.  Only God can make that happen.  Let’s ask him to do it.
  7. Pray that as we contact people, we will be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit.  Pray that we will be bold in asking for support when appropriate.  Pray that we will not offend anyone.
  8. Pray for the coming weeks of speaking in local churches and especially for our trip to Michigan in late April.

Thank you again for praying.
